Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This page explains, in simple language, how PeerPizza (peerpizza.vercel.app) handles information when you use our free chat and file-sharing rooms. The service is built by Vishvajeet Shukla. By using PeerPizza, you agree to this policy.

1. The short version

  • You do not need an email or password to use the main features.
  • We store room data, chat messages, and uploaded files only for a short time.
  • Content is cleaned up after about 24 hours, or earlier if a room expires or the owner schedules a Burn Room wipe.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

2. What we collect

  • Display name: The name you type when you join (for example, “Riya”). This is shown to people in the same room.
  • Guest session: A temporary guest ID and security token so the site can know you are the same person while you stay in a room. This is not a public social profile.
  • Room information: Room code, optional PIN (stored only as a secure hash — we cannot read your PIN), who created the room, and when it expires.
  • Chat messages: Text you send inside a room, so others in that room can read it.
  • Files you upload: File name, size, type, and the file content itself (stored temporarily so others can download it). There is no fixed per-file size cap.
  • Online status: Who is currently in the room and simple events like “joined” or “left”, while people are connected.
  • Technical basics: Things browsers usually send (browser type, general connection info) that help keep the service working and secure. We do not use this to build marketing profiles of you as a person.

3. What we do not ask for (main product)

For normal guest use we do not require your real name, phone number, or email address. If you contact us by email for support, that email is only used to reply to you.

4. How we use information

  • To run rooms, chat, file upload/download, and “who is online”.
  • To enforce limits (file size, room lifetime) and fight abuse.
  • To show ads that help keep the service free (if ads are enabled).
  • To improve reliability and fix problems.

5. How long we keep data

  • Rooms, messages, and files: Designed to last up to about 24 hours from creation, then automatic deletion. If the owner arms Burn Room, cleanup may happen sooner (about 2 hours after they arm it). The room still works normally until that time.
  • Guest session: Also temporary (about 24 hours), then it expires.
  • Incomplete uploads: Temporary pieces on the server are cleaned when finished or after a short timeout.

Important: automatic cleanup depends on the service running its cleanup jobs. Do not treat PeerPizza as permanent storage or a backup drive.

6. Who can see your stuff

People who join your room with the correct code (and PIN, if you set one) can see chat and files in that room. Anyone with the code can try to join — so only share codes with people you trust. Optional PIN adds a second lock.

7. Cookies and advertising

We may use cookies and similar tools to run the site (for example, remembering a guest session) and to show ads.

  • Google and similar ad partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
  • You can change ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and learn more at aboutads.info/choices.

8. Services that help run PeerPizza

To host the website and store temporary data we use cloud providers (for example hosting and database services). They process data only to provide those services. If we show ads, Google AdSense may process data under Google's Privacy Policy.

9. Your choices

  • Use a nickname instead of your real name.
  • Share room codes only with people you trust; use a PIN for sensitive rooms.
  • Owners can delete a room earlier, or schedule Burn Room for a faster wipe.
  • Contact us to ask questions about privacy or to request help with data concerns (see below).

10. Children

PeerPizza is not aimed at children under 13. If you believe a child gave us personal data, contact us and we will try to remove it.

11. Security

We use common security practices (such as encrypted connections where supported and hashed PINs). No online service is 100% risk-free. Avoid sharing highly sensitive secrets (passwords, bank details) in chat or files.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
